1-1-1: a love letter to my night routine
read about how to craft a short but effective night routine, including the best journal prompt to wind down before bed.
may, 2025
edition 77.
I don’t know why but today, may 12th, feels like a new beginning for me. it’s an arbitrary time (except for the fact that it’s a monday) but I’m really feeling the need to take life by the horns and start steering it in the direction that fulfills me. no more autopilot.
this morning I trialled a morning walk — it’s not a revolutionary concept and it’s inspired by someone who has made a large impact in my life — and I can say with certainty that the stupid quotes about winning the morning = winning the day is REAL. (trust me, I cringed and have given myself the ick for writing that as well). making the bed, getting outside and going for a walk, and eating a breakfast that takes a little more effort to make really does have a positive impact on your mood and productivity throughout the day. or maybe I’m just remembering that I am a morning person. either, or.
unfortunately, this one is not about my gorgeous beautiful and brand-spanking-new morning routine. it’s actually about my night routine, something I absolutely adore and have perfected over the years. I’m quite passionate about the notion that a good night routine sets you up for a good day the next day. after all, what’s better than 8 restful hours of sleep?
(I don’t know where this energy has come from. according to my watch, I have a sleep sore of 73 (bad) and a duration of 6.5 hours. maybe it’s the sleep deprivation talking).
