july, 2023
edition 23.
to my american friends: happy july 4th :)
to everyone else: happy tuesday :)
I’m gearing up to be traveling a bit in july/august so the podcast episodes and general social media content will be a little sporadic, please bear with me! as I mention in this latest podcast episode, summers are especially hard for me because I feel overwhelmed with the lack of schedule!
you can expect one email from me every week containing:
one quote that has been inspiring me
one journal prompt
one piece of advice*
* = if you want to submit a question for my upcoming emails, you can find the form here.
podcast
titled ‘summer stagnation and resting without guilt,’ this week is a lofi short episode with some rambles and personal updates — listen to this week’s episode here <3
one quote
“it is not an evil thing to look at yourself with kindness. your life was never meant to be a punishment.”

one journal prompt
gratitude is so often overlooked or thought of as ‘useless’ so, instead of giving you a ““profound”” prompt, I want you to write 10 things you’re grateful for in this moment. get hyperspecific if possible!
one piece of advice
“how to stop caring what other people think or say about you?”
social anxiety ahhhh what a hard and individual topic to address! I personally struggle with social anxiety (although I haven’t felt as crippled by it as I know a lot of people do) and I know that the “solution” isn’t a one-size-fits-all. here are a few things I’ve learned in my anxiety journey and I hope they’ll help you too. as always, take what resonates and leave that doesn’t!
no one is judging you as much as you are judging yourself. if you don’t believe me, think back to the last time you were out eating at a restaurant. do you remember what the person at the next table was wearing? eating? did they have a pimple on their face? were they alone or with other people? how about the table on the other side of you? most times, we’re more wrapped up with ourselves and our own anxiety to notice anyone else
check in with yourself (both mentally and physically):
are there limiting beliefs that feel really strong right now? try to sit with them (it’s uncomfortable!)
where in your body are you feeling this anxiety? can you release some tension by walking around or moving your body in some way?
is there anything about the current environment that you can change to make yourself feel more comfortable?
put yourself in situations that are scary — challenge the fear headfirst (this is my favourite method but I can 100% understand that it doesn’t work for everyone)
if jumping head first seems unreasonable, try doing one small thing every week!
be kind to yourself, you’re not a constant self improvement project
