1-1-1: stop starting over
read about how I've built systems of consistency which takes burnout into account, and the common pitfalls of daily action.

edition 71.
to all of my new substack subscribers (especially those from my thought pieces about phones/tech), hi! this weekly newsletter is what my substack was started for, but I will definitely continue to write and post about detoxing from tech, my journey with consumption, and everything else I’m thinking about.
a quick intro about me: I’m katie, a 25 (!! as of mid-march) year old who is currently living in london, uk, but was born and raised in hong kong (15 years) and los angeles (8 years). I work as a remote research assistant in economics, but got my bachelors in economics and sociology and then a masters in behavioural science. I’m a lover of nature (specifically the mountains), high intensity cardio (spinning and running), and anything crafty (currently fixated on knitting, which I learned how to do 2 months ago).
now, to regularly scheduled programming:
I’m not going to lie, I am rush-typing this before (1) craft night tonight and (2) my 7pm deadline for when the newsletter goes out. I decided to take a nap instead of hanging up my laundry or writing this substack because I was feeling exhausted — and we allllll know that when you’re coming back from burnout (as per my last post), you just have to be gentle with yourself.
writing this post about systems and goal setting made me realise that I myself need better systems in place moving forward. I’m not perfect and I don’t claim to be!!! I’m just a gal who loved reading self help and learned a little too much from 4 years of therapy.
finally, this edition is paid. if you find my writing valuable and you want to support my work, please consider becoming a paid subscriber — a monthly subscription is $6, around a price of a coffee. you’ll get access to all of my previous editions, free and paid.
you can expect one email from me every week containing:
one quote that has been inspiring me
one journal prompt
one piece of advice*
* = if you want to submit a question for my upcoming emails, you can find the form here.
